Many migrating birds are killed when they collide with buildings but turning off unnecessary lights at night during spring and fall bird migration can save countless birds.

In conjunction with the college houses minimizing unnecessary lights in public spaces, we're asking students to consider making lighting changes during the peak spring migration period of April 1 - May 31 between the hours of midnight and 6:00 AM. Note: Interior and exterior emergency/safety lighting should NOT be modified.  If you can, minimize light pollution by turning off unnecessary lights and keeping your curtains closed at night.
